SWEET PICK'INS FARM - "Pick Your Own"

UPDATE FOR
 FRIDAY NIGHT
 4/24/2015

Hi Everyone! I wish we had great news concerning the strawberry season but we are still in a "wait and see" mode. Tomorrow, Saturday, the forecast is calling for thunderstorms. All the berries we had ready this week were picked daily so the field is pretty bare at this point. We will be taking one day at a time. Please do call before you decide to come to the farm. (334) 707-8220 We certainly don't want anyone to make the trip if we don't have berries!!! Thank you all for your understanding and interest!

Saturday, April 4th

We can't wait to see the baskets start filling up this year!!!  February weather set us back a little but we're still expecting the patch to be full of beautiful berries very soon! We think we'll be ready to begin picking in about a week! Please keep an eye out for updates!   Looking forward to seeing all of you again this year and meeting new friends too!!

Sunday, June 8, 2014
Hi Everyone! Well, the strawberries are gone for this year. We appreciate all of you who came out to pick and those who came to pick up their berries! We are working on all the summer produce right now. I'll be posting a list of what we will have and a growing schedule very soon!  Thank you all for your patronage and we look forward to seeing you soon when vegetables and more fruit will be ready!

TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 2014

We knew it was coming . . . The end of strawberry season is pretty much here!! Those last rains we had hastened it considerably. There are still strawberries in the field with a small amount being produced each day. We will still welcome anyone who wants to come pick but there won't be anymore "already picked" berries for this season. Please give us a call before you come just to make sure we haven't had more rain! (334) 707-8220

We're busily getting our other crops in the ground.  I'll be announcing a schedule for those things in the very near future!!!  Thank you all for such a great strawberry season! We've enjoyed seeing our old friends and making new ones!!!  We're excited for all the produce to come from now until Fall so we hope to see you all again very soon!!!

SATURDAY, MAY 31, 2014
The closest thing I can give you for an update for the weekend is as follows:  We know we had rain last night (Friday)!  We will be open today during our regular hours of 8:30 - 5:00 p.m. UNLESS we have another big thunderstorm and have to close!  I'm sure you all know that the rain leaves the strawberries soft.  We should have new ones coming on tomorrow but just can't be sure how plentiful they'll be.  We also have a chance of rain again tomorrow.  Please call before you make a trip!  We can tell you what the availability is if you call after 8:30 a.m.!
  (334) 707-8220
Thanks SO Much for your business!

SATURDAY, MAY 17, 2014
Hope you're all enjoying this beautiful weekend!!!  We are still recovering from the heavy rains this week! Unfortunately that means fewer berries!  We've been working hard to clear the fields of the ones that had damage so tomorrow we will have SOME berries ready! By Monday, though, we should be well on our way to getting the field filled back up!  Give us a call before you come if you are planning to visit us over the next couple of days!  That's really the best way to find out how plentiful              they are at any given moment!
(334) 707-8220  Thank you all for your patronage!  We are truly blessed and enjoy seeing all of you!!!

Monday, April 23, 2014

Hi Everyone!  Yesterday was perfect for strawberry picking - overcast and cool!  We had a great day!  We are open today but as you all know the rain and storms will move in this evening!  We don't expect to be open tomorrow - Tuesday, April 28 - due to the heavy rains that have been predicted.  We hope everyone stays safe!!
